Objective

Following NFL CMO Tim Ellis’ “Helmets Off” initiative, we aimed to place our NFL talent in an intimate and comfortable setting. We wanted the viewers at home to feel like they were having a conversation with a friend,or a loved one. With how divisive politics can be in our country, this campaign aimed to accomplish the unique task of creating a sense of unity - that no matter your beliefs, we are all in this together and every voice deserves to be heard. Though many ideas were thrown around, this project came down to the players speaking directing to the viewers for the duration of the spot. This shifted the weight of the project onto our director even more, as there was no B-roll or cutaways to lean on. Being able to get the correct range of lines, emotions, expressions etc. was key in this project succeeding.

Key Points

  • These spots aired during EVERY halftime commercial break during the 2024-25 NFL season, reaching audiences of over 80 million.
  • The first round of commercials ran up to voting day to encourage voters to get out and make their voice heard. The second round of spots ran in the weeks following November 11th for approximately 2 months to promote unity and the message of resepect regardless of the election outcome.
  • This campaign involved over 10 notable NFL players from a variety of teams, filmed on location in Los Angeles, Minnesota, Arizona, New Orleans, and more.
  • The first round of commercials received such an overwhelmingly positive response and amount of engagement that it triggered a second batch of spots to be produced just days after premiere.
